"Young people are often viewed as incapable of making systemic impact. Our generation is constantly criticised for a perceived lack of initiative, low agency, and poor attitude. Our foundation, on the contrary, prides itself on having started as a youth-led initiative. We work directly with other youth-led organisations to secure funding, manage complex logistics, and handle full-scale administration.We recently hosted a youth summit and networking event to connect with like-minded individuals. To my surprise, following our presentation, many attendees expressed how inspiring it was to see someone their own age running a professional foundation. The Global Impact Program transforms academic research into tangible solutions through a unique 4:4 mentor-to-student ratio, pairing two university researchers with six sixth formers to build prototypes that truly matter. While the entire cohort converges in Colombia for an immersive month of community embedding, the program culminates in an exclusive deployment opportunity for the top six groups. These elite teams earn the chance to travel across all six continents through August, executing their projects in diverse global locations ranging from Kazakhstan and Hawaii to Fiji and Brazil, ensuring their innovations reach the communities that need them most.
